TetrahedronReber, Stefan; Knöpfel, Thomas F.; Carreira, Erick M. (2003) - Ritter reaction for the synthesis of picolinamidesItem type: Journal Article
TetrahedronSchreib, Benedikt; Margarini, Jacopo; Carreira, Erick M. (2022)The synthesis of picolinamides through Ritter reaction of 2-cyanopyridine with alcohols and alkenes is reported. Moreover, a range of additional heteroaryl nitriles successfully participate in the amidation reaction. Salient features of the reaction include the operational simplicity and the inexpensive reagents used. The synthetic utility of a camphene derived picolinamide is demonstrated through a palladium-catalyzed C–H arylation reaction. - Synthesis of 4-O-(4-amino-4-deoxy-β-D-xylopyranosyl)paromomycin and 4-S-(β-D-xylopyranosyl)-4-deoxy-4′-thio-paromomycin and evaluation of their antiribosomal and antibacterial activityItem type: Journal Article
TetrahedronMohamad-Ramshan, Rukshana; Ande, Chennaiah; Matsushita, Takahiko; et al. (2023)The design, synthesis and antiribosomal and antibacterial activity of two novel glycosides of the aminoglycoside antibiotic paromomycin are described. The first carries of 4-amino-4-deoxy-β-D-xylopyranosyl moiety at the paromomycin 4′-position and is approximately two-fold more active than the corresponding β-D-xylopyranosyl derivative. The second is a 4’-(β-D-xylopyranosylthio) derivative of 4′-deoxyparomomycin that is unexpectedly less active than the simple β-D-xylopyranosyl derivative, perhaps because of the insertion of the conformationally more mobile thioglycosidic linkage. - Oxidative addition transition states of Pd(0) complexes in polar solventItem type: Journal Article
