- High-Speed Plasmonic Modulator for Simultaneous C- and O-Band Modulation with Simplified FabricationItem type: Conference Paper
OSA Technical Digest ~ Optical Fiber Communication Conference (OFC) 2020Messner, Andreas; Jud, Pascal A.; Winiger, Joel; et al. (2020)A plasmonic modulator spanning both C- and O-band for dual-band data modulation up to 100 Gbit/s in one single device is presented. Fiber-to-fiber insertion loss can be as low as 11 dB. (C) 2020 The Author(s) - Dual-Drive Plasmonic Transmitter with Co-Designed Driver Electronics operated at 120 GBd On-Off KeyingItem type: Conference Paper
OSA Technical Digest ~ 2019 Optical Fiber Communications Conference and Exhibition (OFC)Bäuerle, Benedikt; Heni, Wolfgang; Fedoryshyn, Yuriy; et al. (2019) - Transparent Optical-THz-Optical Link Transmission over 5/115 m at 240/190 Gbit/s Enabled by PlasmonicsItem type: Conference Paper
OSA Technical Digest ~ Optical Fiber Communication Conference (OFC) 2021Horst, Yannik Matthias Julius; Blatter, Tobias; Kulmer, Laurenz; et al. (2021)The first transparent Optical-THz-Optical link providing record-high line-rates up to 240 and 190 Gbit/s over distances from 5 to 115m is demonstrated. The link is based on direct data-conversion from optical to sub-THz and vice-versa. - Ridge-width dependence of the dispersion and performance of mid-infrared quantum cascade laser frequency combsItem type: Conference Paper
OSA Technical Digest ~ Conference on Lasers and Electro-OpticsWang, Ruijun; Kapsalidis, Filippos; Shahmohammadi, Mehran; et al. (2020)We investigate the effects of ridge width on the characteristics of quantum cascade laser frequency combs and study how to achieve optimal performance. Very narrow ridges lead to much broader lasing spectra but also result in weaker comb stability. - Nonlinear Frequency Conversion in the Hybrid Silicon Nitride-Lithium Niobate Integrated PlatformItem type: Other Conference Item
OSA Technical Digest ~ Conference on Lasers and Electro-OpticsChuraev, Mikhail; Riedhauser, Annina; Wang, Rui N.; et al. (2021)We demonstrate optical frequency comb generation in hybrid high-Q optical microresonators fabricated using direct wafer bonding of photonic Damascene silicon nitride wafer with thin-film lithium niobate-on-insulator (LNOI). The devices enable direct phase control via Pockels effect. - Atomic-Scale Photonic Memristive and Nano-Opto-Electro-Mechanical Devices Enabled by PlasmonicsItem type: Conference Paper
OSA Technical Digest ~ Frontiers in Optics 2020Leuthold, Juerg; Cheng, Bojun; Lewerenz, Mila; et al. (2020)Plasmonics allows for an unprecedented miniaturization of optical elements. For instance, by combining plasmonics with memristive approaches atomic scale switches and photodetectors can be obtained, whereas combining plasmonics with MEMS allows realization of nano-opto-electro-mechanical switches. - Femtosecond dual-comb Yb:CaF2 laser from a free-running polarization-multiplexed cavity for rapid optical samplingItem type: Conference Paper
OSA Technical Digest ~ Laser Congress 2020 (ASSL, LAC)Willenberg, Benjamin; Pupeikis, Justinas; Krüger, Léonard M.; et al. (2020)We demonstrate a common-cavity polarization-multiplexed dual-comb Yb:CaF2 oscillator. Each comb delivers 440-mW average power, 175-fs pulses at 137-MHz repetition-rate with stable repetition-rate difference of 1-kHz. We thereby demonstrate low-noise ASOPS on SESAM and VECSEL structures. - Ultra-low threshold quantum cascade laserItem type: Other Conference Item
OSA Technical Digest ~ Conference on Lasers and Electro-OpticsWang, Xhixin; Kapsalidis, Filippos; Wang, Ruijun; et al. (2021)We present a quantum cascade laser operating at 4.3 µm wavelength and exhibiting a threshold current of only 9.5 mA while generating a single-mode maximum power of 0.9 mW at-20 °C in continuous-wave operation. - Sub-7-femtosecond conical-intersection dynamics probed at the carbon K-edgeItem type: Other Conference Item
OSA Technical Digest ~ Conference on Lasers and Electro-OpticsZinchenko, Kristina S.; Ardana-Lamas, Fernando; Seidu, Issaka; et al. (2021)We present a novel soft X-ray high-harmonic setup and demonstrate the first realization of attosecond transient-absorption spectroscopy at the carbon K-edge, revealing the fastest electronic-relaxation dynamics measured to date. - Transient absorption spectroscopy with attosecond pulse trainsItem type: Other Conference Item
OSA Technical Digest ~ Frontiers in Optics 2011/Laser Science XXVIIGallmann, Lukas; Holler, Mirko; Schapper, Florian; et al. (2011)Transient absorption spectroscopy using attosecond pulse trains is introduced as a new spectroscopic tool in the attosecond domain. We discuss its application to the observation of interferences between transiently bound electron wavepackets in helium.
