- Asymptotic Charges at Null Infinity in Any DimensionItem type: Journal Article
UniverseCampoleoni, Andrea; Francia, Dario; Heissenberg, Carlo (2018)We analyse the conservation laws associated with large gauge transformations of massless fields in Minkowski space. Our aim is to highlight the interplay between boundary conditions and finiteness of the asymptotically conserved charges in any space-time dimension, both even and odd, greater than or equal to three. After discussing nonlinear Yang–Mills theory and revisiting linearised gravity, our investigation extends to cover the infrared behaviour of bosonic massless quanta of any spin. - Two-dimensional fluids and their holographic dualsItem type: Journal Article
Nuclear Physics BCampoleoni, Andrea; Ciambelli, Luca; Marteau, Charles; et al. (2019)We describe the dynamics of two-dimensional relativistic and Carrollian fluids. These are mapped holographically to three-dimensional locally anti-de Sitter and locally Minkowski spacetimes, respectively. To this end, we use Eddington–Finkelstein coordinates, and grant general curved two-dimensional geometries as hosts for hydrodynamics. This requires to handle the conformal anomaly, and the expressions obtained for the reconstructed bulk metrics incorporate non-conformal-fluid data. We also analyze the freedom of choosing arbitrarily the hydrodynamic frame for the description of relativistic fluids, and propose an invariant entropy current compatible with classical and extended irreversible thermodynamics. This local freedom breaks down in the dual gravitational picture, and fluid/gravity correspondence turns out to be sensitive to dissipation processes: the fluid heat current is a necessary ingredient for reconstructing all Bañados asymptotically anti-de Sitter solutions. The same feature emerges for Carrollian fluids, which enjoy a residual frame invariance, and their Barnich–Troessaert locally Minkowski duals. These statements are proven by computing the algebra of surface conserved charges in the fluid-reconstructed bulk three-dimensional spacetimes. - Spin-2 Twisted Duality in (A)dSItem type: Journal Article
Frontiers in PhysicsBoulanger, Nicolas; Campoleoni, Andrea; Cortese, Ignacio; et al. (2018)Starting from the dual Lagrangians recently obtained for (partially) massless spin-2 fields in the Stueckelberg formulation, we write the equations of motion for (partially) massless gravitons in (A)dS in the form of twisted-duality relations. In both cases, the latter admit a smooth flat limit. In the massless case, this limit reproduces the gravitational twisted-duality relations previously known for Minkowski spacetime. In the partially-massless case, our twisted-duality relations preserve the number of degrees of freedom in the flat limit, in the sense that they split into a decoupled pair of dualities for spin-1 and spin-2 fields. Our results apply to spacetimes of any dimension greater than three. In four dimensions, the twisted-duality relations for partially massless fields that appeared in the literature are recovered by gauging away the Stueckelberg field
