- A method for determining a scoreItem type: PatentFellnhofer, Katharina (2023)According to the present invention there is provided a method for determining a score for a subject, the method comprising the steps of, (a) presenting the subject with an image which contains a subliminal image; (b) presenting the subject with a question which requires the subject to make a decision, and receiving a decision from the subject; (c) repeating steps (a) and (b) a plurality of times; (d) determining the number of the decisions that were received in steps (b) that were correct to provide a first intermediate score; (e) presenting the subject with an image which is without a subliminal image; (f) presenting the subject with a question which requires the subject to make a decision, and receiving a decision from the subject; (g) repeating steps (e) and (f) a plurality of times; (h) determining the number of decisions that were received in steps (f) that were correct to provide a second intermediate score; and (i) determining a score using the first intermediate score and second intermediate score.
- Toward a taxonomy of entrepreneurship education research literature: A bibliometric mapping and visualizationItem type: Review Article
Educational research reviewFellnhofer, Katharina (2019)The retrospective amount of research literature dedicated to entrepreneurship education (EE) is overwhelming, which makes producing an overview difficult. However, advanced bibliometric mapping and clustering techniques can help visualize and structure complex research literature. Thus, the objective of this mapping study is to systematically explore and cluster the EE research literature to deliver a taxonomic scheme that can serve as a basis for future research. The analyzed data, which were drawn from the Web of Science and Scopus, consist of 1773 peer-reviewed documents published between 1975 and 2014. On the one hand, this taxonomy should create stronger ties to educational research; on the other, it can foster international research collaboration to boost both interdisciplinary EE and its impact on a global basis. This work reinforces our understanding of current EE research by identifying and distilling the most powerful intellectual relationships among its contributions and contributors. Consequently, this study addresses not only the academic community but also entrepreneurship educators and policymakers in an effort to boost entrepreneurial spirit, design effective policy instruments, and, ultimately, improve societal welfare. - Illuminating an intuitive-analytical paradox: Complex decisions stimulate intuition and simple decisions facilitate analyticsItem type: Other Conference Item

Academy of Management Global ProceedingsKakderi, Christina; Fellnhofer, Katharina; Panori, Anastasia; et al. (2018)The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of online mechanisms toward the entrepreneurial discovery process within smart specialisation processes. In particular, based on a sample of 403 individuals from four European countries (Greece, Scotland, Netherlands and Spain) a structural equation model explores the influence of web-based applications on stakeholders' perceptions regarding entrepreneurial discovery. The results indicated that smart specialisation application facilitate the scanning, search, association, connection, evaluation and judgement of entrepreneurial ideas significantly positively. Consequently, this effort is relevant for a diverse set of stakeholders. In particular, policymakers can use the applications to facilitate the entrepreneurial alertness in their smart specialisation processes when (re)designing the research and innovation strategies. - Responsible Research and Innovation, Regional Innovation and Social Participation: Lessons from RRI2SCALE ProjectItem type: Other Conference ItemAngelidou, Margarita; Bakratsas, Thomas; Fellnhofer, Katharina (2020)

- Drivers of innovation success in sustainable businessesItem type: Journal Article
Journal of Cleaner ProductionFellnhofer, Katharina (2017)Based on Stevenson's (1983) modified conceptualisation of entrepreneurship, this study illuminates the set of opportunity-based management practices across organisational levels. This empirical study of 301 employees from four sustainable-oriented organisations contributes to an understanding of the harmonising nature of sustainable entrepreneurship and innovation. Overall, Stevenson's construct dimensions include strategic orientation, resource orientation, management structure, reward philosophy, growth orientation and entrepreneurial culture to determine a firm's level of entrepreneurial orientation. The present study confirms the widespread perception that these constructs have a significant, positive impact on a firm's innovation success. The results indicate that these dimensions are significant and positive predictors of perceived innovation success within sustainable businesses, thus expanding entrepreneurial theory with findings of significant impact on the success of innovation. This study's results also add to the research on entrepreneurship–innovation interplays. From a practical perspective, Stevenson's multilevel entrepreneurial approach offers drivers of innovation success in sustainable businesses. Thus, Stevenson's concept of entrepreneurship could be used as a predicting indicator to promote sustainable innovation success throughout different company levels. As this is the first contribution with such a scope, further investigation is required. This article opens a research stream for scholars to further evaluate sustainable entrepreneurship–innovation relationships. - Measuring and enhancing intuitionItem type: Journal Article
Nature Reviews PsychologyFellnhofer, Katharina (2022)As the world becomes more complex and uncertain, insights into how people decide are crucial. Intuition — the ability to use nonconscious information for conscious decision making — represents an invaluable trainable skill to improve decision making. However, scientific tools to measure intuition are scant, and insight into how intuition can be deliberately enhanced is even rarer.
