Abstract
The topic of this issue is “Ramifications of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Rivalry beyond the Spotlight.” Firstly, Sofie Bedford demonstrates how the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict has shaped Azerbaijani national identity and, interrelatedly, political regime dynamics in post-Soviet-Azerbaijan; secondly, Ulrike Ziemer explores how militarization, linked to the protracted conflict, has impacted Armenian society, specifically gender issues and LGBT rights; lastly, Anna Cieślewska examines the salience of this conflict among the Armenian and Azerbaijani minorities in Georgia with a specific focus on religion.
