Abstract

This issue addresses public perceptions of social justice and the role of the state in the provision of social services in Ukraine during wartime. First, Nataliia Lomonosova describes the challenges to the work of municipal social workers caused by the war. Then, Viktoriia Muliavka and Jakob Frizell examine based on a representative survey of the Ukrainian population whether the war has led to demands for tax progressivity, meaning that the rich make a higher contribution to state income. Finally, Oksana Chorna analyses based on a large-scale survey how internally displaced persons react to cuts in the state programme benefiting them.
