Abstract
First-generation bioenergy production can only contribute a small fraction to global energy consumption and in most cases subsidies are needed in order to be competitive with fossil
fuels. In this context, it is of special interest to evaluate biofuel production based on an integrative assessment of both, positive and negative effects.
