Abstract
In diesem Aufsatz wird ein knapper Überblick über den Ausbau der beiden Landverkehrssyste- me Strasse und Schiene in der Schweiz während der letzten 50 Jahren gegeben. Darauf aufbau- end werden die Veränderungen der regionalen Erreichbarkeitsverhältnisse dargestellt und disku- tiert. Abschliessend wird auf die zentrale Bedeutung einer vertieften Diskussion der wünschba- ren und finanzierbaren Erreichbarkeitsverhältnisse für eine nachhaltige Entwicklung der Schweiz anstelle einer reinen Engpassbeseitigung hingewiesen.
This abstract gives a short overview of the expansion of both land transport systems road and railroad in Switzerland during the last 50 years. The changing of accessibility on a regional level is described and discussed. To conclude we indicate the central importance of a deeper discussion about the desirable and affordable amount of accessibility for a sustainable development in Switzerland instead of a pure removal of bottlenecks.
