Abstract

We provide here data on 1) monthly hay, feed wheat and feed barley prices in South Germany (=Bavaria and Baden-Wuerttemberg) from August 2002 to March 2019 and 2) monthly Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index (SPEI) values for South Germany and in whole Germany from January 1991 to April 2019. For more details, see Schaub and Finger (2020) and the README file. To replicate the results of Schaub and Finger (2020) we additionally uploaded the monthly harmonized index of consumer prices for Germany taken from Eurostat and the user needs to download 1) the German administrative area data provided by the Federal Agency for Cartography and Geodesy (filename: ‘Stand: 01.01., Georeferenzierung: GK3, Format: shape Inhalt: Ebenen (ZIP, 72 MB)’) from ‘https://gdz.bkg.bund.de/index.php/default/digitale-geodaten/verwaltungsgebiete/verwaltungsgebiete-1-250-000-ebenen-stand-01-01-vg250-ebenen-01-01.html’ and 2) and the German land cover data provided by the Federal Agency for Cartography and Geodesy (filename: ‘Georeferenzierung: GK3, Format: Shape (ZIP, 290MB)’) from ‘https://gdz.bkg.bund.de/index.php/default/open-data/corine-land-cover-10-ha-clc10.html’. The code for replication of Schaub and Finger (2020) is available in the supplementary material of the paper.
