Abstract
We use giant unilamellar vesicles (GUVs) as cell models in combination with high accuracy 3D flow visualization to study the process of mechanotransduction. The effect of size and position of GUVs inside microfluidic channels on the symmetry of GUV luminal flow is revealed, as well as the altered mechanotransduction for membranes comprising cholesterol.
