The strategic effects of the Gaza War have been remarkably small. Israel’s strategy of isolating Hamas continues to aim at short-term conflict management and fails to open up new prospects for resolving the Middle East conflict. While the Palestinians are striving to overcome their division, they will find it very difficult to formulate and implement a common strategy towards Israel.
