This report provides a concise review of existing British panel studies in the area of travel behaviour. The possible results and conclusions from such studies is illustrated with some selected examples from recent panel studies. The report provides a comprehensive bibliography of British panel studies. In addition, a selection of foreign studies and theoretical writings on panels is provided.

In this paper we give a summary of the main results in concerning the inverse Sturm-Liouville problem. We emphasize a convergence result for a Newton method based on finite difference approximation together with a correction technique first introduced by Paine, de Hoog and Anderssen.

A summation formula is proven for a lattice sum occurring frequently in molecular dynamics calculations. It has a much faster convergence rate than the original sum. An important application is in the case of Coulomb forces.
