Microfluidic impedance platform for automated schistosomal motility detection
Abstract
Schistosomiasis is a neglected tropical disease, caused by a parasitic worm that affects 250 millions of people worldwide. The current method for screening candidate drugs against schistosomiasis is slow and labor-intensive. Here, we present an integrated microfluidic platform to perform impedance-based viability detection of parasites. This platform could be a valuable pre-screening tool for identification of drug candidates. Show more
