The present research is based on an analysis of the anaesthesia workplaces in the area of operating theatre, which was undertake in the University Hospital of Zurich. The methodology used includes a status quo analysis and a structured interview with the participated anaesthesia staff. The most significant problems are identified in the arrangement of the equipment which distract the anaesthesiologist from patient care and causes a difficult procedure to connect and reconnect all the cabling for patient input.
