Estimation of the Swiss valuation of travel time savings

Abstract

This report describes the finding of a study investigating the Valuation of Travel Savings in Switzerland. The study makes use of the Stated Preference data described in Axhausen et al. (2004), and expands on the model specifications described therein. The report is structured as follows. Section 2 presents a brief description of the data, while Section 3 discusses model specification. The results of the main modelling analysis are summarised in Section 4, and trade-offs calculated from these results are presented in Section 5. Finally, Section 6 extrapolates the results to the population level, Section 7 presents tabulations of results for different income and trip distance classes, and Section 8 presents the conclusions.
