Abstract

Dieser Aufsatz ist das einleitende Kapitel der Broschüre „Zeitkarten Schweiz 1950 – 2000“. Er erläutert die Hintergründe, das zu testende Gedankenmodell der Wechselwirkung zwischen Verkehrssystem, Wirtschaftswachstum und Raumentwicklung und interpretiert die vorliegenden Ergebnisse.

This paper is the introductory chapter of the book “Time-scaled Maps Switzerland 1950 to 2000”. It discusses the background of the work, presents the underlying conceptual framework linking transport system, economy and land use, and interprets the maps against the background of this framework.
