Abstract
In this paper we describe a procedure for computation of optimal and suboptimal explicit MPC controllers for hybrid systems. This procedure is based on a parametric branch and bound approach, which allows the user to specify a state-dependent suboptimality tolerance. Depending on the choice of the tolerance, an optimal solution can be sought for, a merely feasible solution can be sought for, a certain suboptimality can be enforced, or a priori stability guarantees can be given. Moreover, the proposed procedure does not require that the computation of the optimal solution is tractable. Show more
