Abstract
This study uses a novel data set provided by the women justice centre (WJC) in Chihuahua City in Mexico, to analyse the impacts of vocational training workshops on employment outcomes of 116 domestic violence victims. Based on the analysis of a difference-in-differences strategy, I find that women who attended vocational training courses at the WJC were about 2.5 times more likely to be employed after. Additional results provide evidence of a decrease in the probability of informal employment among participants, and also documents positive shifts in attitudes related to motivation. Show more
