Mitigation of Thermal History-related Issues in Selective Laser Melting

Abstract

The results of this work bring a consistent and comparable understanding of process condition variation and its influence on various quality indicators of the process, such as residual stresses, surface quality, and grain size distribution. It opens the way to new monitoring technologies for Selective Laser Melting based on the Barkhausen Noise Analysis and discusses a potential framework for their integration in the process chain. Ultimately, this thesis completes the literature on difficult-to-manufacture features and process simulation use cases at the meso scale.
