Standardised switching cell building block for converter design optimisation with detailed electro-thermal model

Abstract

The design of power electronic systems is typically performed based on optimisation procedures. In this paper, the switching cell of the converter is introduced as a new building block in the optimisation procedure of the converter systems. A standardised half-bridge arrangement is modelled and optimised in terms of efficiency, volume, parasitics, and thermal performance.
