Tropical Feynman integration in the physical region
(2024)PoS: Proceedings of Science ~ The European Physical Society Conference on High Energy PhysicsThe software feyntrop for direct numerical evaluation of Feynman integrals is presented. We focus on the underlying combinatorics and polytopal geometries facilitating these methods. Especially matroids, generalized permutohedra and normality are discussed in detail.Conference Paper -
Unsupervised tagging of semivisible jets with normalized autoencoders in CMS
(2024)PoS: Proceedings of Science ~ The European Physical Society Conference on High Energy PhysicsA particularly interesting application of autoencoders (AE) for High Energy Physics is their use as anomaly detection (AD) algorithms to perform a signal-agnostic search for new physics. This is achieved by training the AE on standard model physics and tagging potential signal events as anomalies. The use of an AE as an AD algorithm relies on the assumption that the network better reconstructs examples it was trained on than ones drawn ...Conference Paper -

Recent CMS results on flavor anomalies and lepton flavor violation
(2024)PoS: Proceedings of Science ~ The European Physical Society Conference on High Energy PhysicsIn the last 10 years, several discrepancies, at the level of several standard deviations, between flavor observables and the standard model predictions have been found by the Belle, BaBaR, and LHCb collaborations. In this talk, the results from the CMS experiment on these flavor anomalies are presented. The results are based on 13 TeV pp collision data collected during 2016-2018.Conference Paper -

NNLO Matrix-Element Corrections in VINCIA
(2024)PoS: Proceedings of ScienceWe report on a new formalism for parton showers whose fixed-order expansion can be corrected through next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) in QCD. It is the first such formalism we are aware of that has no dependence on any auxiliary scales or external resummations and which is fully differential in all of the relevant phase spaces. Since the shower acts as the phase-space generator, the dominant singularity structures are encoded by ...Conference Paper -
Flow Oriented Perturbation Theory
(2024)PoS: Proceedings of ScienceFlow Oriented Perturbation Theory (FOPT) is a novel approach to Feynman diagrams based on the coordinate (position) space description of Quantum Field Theories (QFT). FOPT offers interesting features regarding the computation of higher-loop Feynman amplitudes such as combinatorial and canonical Feynman rules, explicit infrared singularity factorization on a per-diagram level and the potential to have manifest cancellation of real and ...Conference Paper -

Baryonic screening masses in high temperature QCD
(2024)PoS: Proceedings of Science ~ Proceedings of The 40th International Symposium on Lattice Field TheoryWe compute the screening masses of fields with nucleon quantum numbers for a wide range of temperatures between T∼1 GeV and T∼160 GeV. The computation has been performed by means of Monte Carlo simulations of lattice QCD with Nf=3 flavors of O(a)-improved Wilson fermions: we exploit a novel strategy which has recently allowed to determine for the first time non-singlet mesonic screening masses up to extremely high temperatures. The baryonic ...Conference Paper
