Abstract
We introduce a novel strategy for on-demand delivery of reactants in double emulsions (DEs). The method is based on the encapsulation of large unilamellar vesicles (LUVs) in DEs and the controlled release of the liposomal cargo. We demonstrate the potential of this method by successfully inducing gene expression in bacteria.
