Abstract

Suspension flow through porous media featuring deposition and erosion is a process that occurs in many areas and at different scales. Prominent examples include filtering of particle-laden fluids, happening naturally when groundwater seeps through soil, or artificially, in water treatment plants. This thesis aims to study erosion and deposition in porous media. To that goal numerical models were developed and specific setups and flow conditions simulated.
