Abstract
Water and its interaction in nature is essential to life. Water is also a high contrast medium for neutrons which makes the liquid ideal for studies of flow and solute in soil and plants. Initial research targeted the understanding of water flow in heterogenous porous media. These studies evolved into comprehensive studies of soil-plant interactions where water uptake and evaporation processes. These investigations focus on quantifying processes like water uptake and evaporation during day-night cycles, providing insights into essential ecological dynamics.
