  1. UBFuzz: Finding Bugs in Sanitizer Implementations

    Li S.; Su Z. (2024)
International Conference on Architectural Support for Programming Languages and Operating Systems - ASPLOS
In this paper, we propose a testing framework for validating sanitizer implementations in compilers. Our core components are (1) a program generator specifically designed for producing programs containing undefined behavior (UB), and (2) a novel test oracle for sanitizer testing. The program generator employs Shadow Statement Insertion, a general and effective approach for introducing UB into a valid seed program. The generated UB programs ...

  2. Global trends and scenarios for terrestrial biodiversity and ecosystem services from 1900 to 2050

    Pereira H.M.; Martins I.S.; Rosa I.M.D.; et al. (2024)
    Science
Based on an extensive model intercomparison, we assessed trends in biodiversity and ecosystem services from historical reconstructions and future scenarios of land-use and climate change. During the 20th century, biodiversity declined globally by 2 to 11%, as estimated by a range of indicators. Provisioning ecosystem services increased several fold, and regulating services decreased moderately. Going forward, policies toward sustainability ...

  3. Detection of SARS-CoV-2 RNA in a Zoo-Kept Red Fox (Vulpes vulpes)

    Chan T.; Ginders J.; Kuhlmeier E.; et al. (2024)
    Viruses
Many different animal species are susceptible to SARS-CoV-2, including a few Canidae (domestic dog and raccoon dog). So far, only experimental evidence is available concerning SARS-CoV-2 infections in red foxes (Vulpes vulpes). This is the first report of SARS-CoV-2 RNA detection in a sample from a red fox. The RT-qPCR-positive fox was zoo-kept together with another fox and two bears in the Swiss Canton of Zurich. Combined material from ...

  4. Nonlinear model reduction to temporally aperiodic spectral submanifolds

    Haller G.; S. Kaundinya R. (2024)
    Chaos
We extend the theory of spectral submanifolds (SSMs) to general non-autonomous dynamical systems that are either weakly forced or slowly varying. Examples of such systems arise in structural dynamics, fluid-structure interactions, and control problems. The time-dependent SSMs we construct under these assumptions are normally hyperbolic and hence will persist for larger forcing and faster time dependence that are beyond the reach of our ...

  5. Radiation-Induced Effects in SiC Vertical Power MOSFETs Irradiated at Ultrahigh Doses

    Bonaldo S.; Martinella C.; Race S.; et al. (2024)
    IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science
Total-ionizing dose (TID) and displacement damage (DD) are investigated in SiC power MOSFETs at ultrahigh doses with 10-keV X-ray and 3-MeV protons. Significant parametric shifts in the electrical responses of the devices are observed depending on the bias condition and on the fabrication technology. Worst TID degradation is measured when positive gate bias is applied during the irradiation, due to positive charge trapping in the gate ...
