Search for the lepton flavor violating τ → 3μ decay in proton-proton collisions at √s = 13TeV
(2024)Physics Letters BA search for the lepton flavor violating τ → 3μ decay is performed using proton-proton collision events at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC in 2017–2018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 97.7 fb⁻¹. Tau leptons produced in both heavy-flavor hadron and W boson decays are exploited in the analysis. No evidence for the decay is observed. The results of this search are combined with an ...Journal Article -

Latest results from the RD42 collaboration on the radiation tolerance of polycrystalline diamond detectors
(2024)Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated EquipmentAs nuclear and particle physics facilities move to higher intensities, the detectors used there must be more radiation tolerant. Diamond is in use at many facilities due to its inherent radiation tolerance and ease of use. In this article we present our radiation tolerance measurements of the highest quality polycrystalline Chemical Vapor Deposition (pCVD) diamond material for irradiations from a range of proton energies, pions and neutrons ...Journal Article -
Revealing legacy effects of extreme droughts on tree growth of oaks across the Northern Hemisphere
(2024)Science of The Total EnvironmentForests are undergoing increasing risks of drought-induced tree mortality. Species replacement patterns following mortality may have a significant impact on the global carbon cycle. Among major hardwoods, deciduous oaks (Quercus spp.) are increasingly reported as replacing dying conifers across the Northern Hemisphere. Yet, our knowledge on the growth responses of these oaks to drought is incomplete, especially regarding post-drought ...Journal Article -
Search for an exotic decay of the Higgs boson into a Z boson and a pseudoscalar particle in proton-proton collisions at √s = 13 TeV
(2024)Physics Letters BA search for an exotic decay of the Higgs boson to a Z boson and a light pseudoscalar particle (a), decaying to a pair of leptons and a pair of photons, respectively, is presented. The search is based on proton-proton collision data at a center-of-mass energy of √s = 13TeV, collected with the CMS detector at the LHC and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 138 fb⁻¹. The analysis probes pseudoscalar masses mₐ between 1 and 30 GeV, ...Journal Article -
Harmonized quality assurance/quality control provisions to assess completeness and robustness of MS1 data preprocessing for LC-HRMS-based suspect screening and non-targeted analysis
(2024)TrAC - Trends in Analytical ChemistryNon-targeted and suspect screening analysis using liquid chromatography coupled to high-resolution mass spectrometry (LC-HRMS) holds great promise to comprehensively characterize complex chemical mixtures. Data preprocessing is a crucial part of the process, however, some limitations are observed: (i) peak-picking and feature extraction might be incomplete, especially for low abundant compounds, and (ii) limited reproducibility has been ...Review Article -

Retinoic acid receptor activation reprograms senescence response and enhances anti-tumor activity of natural killer cells
(2024)Cancer CellCellular senescence can exert dual effects in tumors, either suppressing or promoting tumor progression. The senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP), released by senescent cells, plays a crucial role in this dichotomy. Consequently, the clinical challenge lies in developing therapies that safely enhance senescence in cancer, favoring tumor-suppressive SASP factors over tumor-promoting ones. Here, we identify the retinoic-acid-receptor ...Journal Article -
The AGORA High-resolution Galaxy Simulations Comparison Project. V. Satellite Galaxy Populations in a Cosmological Zoom-in Simulation of a Milky Way-Mass Halo
(2024)The Astrophysical JournalWe analyze and compare the satellite halo populations at z ∼ 2 in the high-resolution cosmological zoom-in simulations of a 10¹² M ⊙ target halo (z = 0 mass) carried out on eight widely used astrophysical simulation codes (Art-I, Enzo, Ramses, Changa, Gadget-3, Gear, Arepo-t, and Gizmo) for the AGORA High-resolution Galaxy Simulations Comparison Project. We use slightly different redshift epochs near z = 2 for each code (hereafter “z ∼ ...Journal Article
