FCC-ee: The Lepton Collider
(2019)The European Physical Journal Special TopicsIn response to the 2013 Update of the European Strategy for Particle Physics, the Future Circular Collider (FCC) study was launched, as an international collaboration hosted by CERN. This study covers a highest-luminosity high-energy lepton collider (FCC-ee) and an energy-frontier hadron collider (FCC-hh), which could, successively, be installed in the same 100 km tunnel. The scientific capabilities of the integrated FCC programme would ...Journal Article -

Search for a massive resonance decaying to a pair of Higgs bosons in the four b quark final state in proton–proton collisions at √ s = 13 TeV
(2018)Physics Letters BA search for a massive resonance decaying into a pair of standard model Higgs bosons, in a final state consisting of two b quark–antiquark pairs, is performed. A data sample of proton–proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV is used, collected by the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC in 2016, and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9fb −1. The Higgs bosons are highly Lorentz-boosted and are each reconstructed as a ...Journal Article -
Search for lepton flavour violating decays of the Higgs boson to μτ and eτ in proton-proton collisions at √s=13 TeV
(2018)Journal of High Energy PhysicsA search for lepton flavour violating decays of the Higgs boson in the μτ and eτ decay modes is presented. The search is based on a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb−1 of proton-proton collisions collected with the CMS detector in 2016, at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. No significant excess over the standard model expectation is observed. The observed (expected) upper limits on the lepton flavour violating ...Journal Article -

Search for Heavy Neutral Leptons in Events with Three Charged Leptons in Proton-Proton Collisions at s =13 TeV
(2018)Physical Review LettersA search for a heavy neutral lepton N of Majorana nature decaying into a W boson and a charged lepton is performed using the CMS detector at the LHC. The targeted signature consists of three prompt charged leptons in any flavor combination of electrons and muons. The data were collected in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, with an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb−1. The search is performed in the N mass range ...Journal Article -
Search for Narrow Resonances in the b-Tagged Dijet Mass Spectrum in Proton-Proton Collisions at √s =8 TeV
(2018)Physical Review LettersA search for narrow resonances decaying to bottom quark-antiquark pairs is presented, using a data sample of proton-proton collisions at √s=8 TeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb−1. The search is extended to masses lower than those reached in typical searches for resonances decaying into jet pairs at the LHC, by taking advantage of triggers that identify jets originating from bottom quarks. No significant excess of ...Journal Article -
Search for the X(5568) State Decaying into B0sπ± in Proton-Proton Collisions at √s=8 TeV
(2018)Physical Review LettersA search for resonancelike structures in the B0sπ± invariant mass spectrum is performed using proton-proton collision data collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC at √s=8 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb−1. The B0s mesons are reconstructed in the decay chain B0s→J/ψϕ, with J/ψ→μ+μ− and ϕ→K+K−. The B0sπ± invariant mass distribution shows no statistically significant peaks for different selection requirements ...Journal Article -
Search for the Exotic Meson X (5568) with the Collider Detector at Fermilab
(2018)Physical Review LettersA search for the exotic meson X(5568) decaying into the B0sπ± final state is performed using data corresponding to 9.6 fb−1 from p¯p collisions at √s=1960 GeV recorded by the Collider Detector at Fermilab. No evidence for this state is found and an upper limit of 6.7% at the 95% confidence level is set on the fraction of B0s produced through the X(5568)→B0sπ± process.Journal Article -
Search for new long-lived particles at √ s =13 TeV
(2018)Physics Letters BThe observation of physics beyond the standard model (BSM) is one of the main objectives of the ATLAS and CMS experiments at the CERN LHC. With no signal yet observed, these experiments have placed stringent bounds on BSM models. The majority of these searches focus on particles with lab frame decay lengths of mm and incorporate selection requirements that reject longer-lived particle decays. This leaves open the possibility that long-lived ...Journal Article
