Abstract
Cylinder individual feedback control of the combustion in a dual fuel engine is investigated. The dual-fuel engine is operated with port-fuel injected natural gas and directly injected diesel fuel. The center of combustion and maximum pressure rise are controlled by manipulating the start of diesel injection and duration of diesel injection. Experimental validation is performed on a four cylinder common-rail diesel engine with a displacement volume of 2 litres. Transient engine operation shows that the proposed controller is able to compensate the influence of various disturbances. Steady state measurements show that efficiencies of 40% are reached with stoichiometric air-fuel ratio and diesel ratios below 5%. Mehr anzeigen
