Co-Creating Mobility Hubs – A transdisciplinary research project of SBB together with ETH Zurich and EPF Lausanne.
(2022)Mobility hubs with customer-oriented mobility solutions and integrated area developments make an important contribution to the careful use of scarce land resources and create livable urban space for the population. The transdisciplinary research project "Co-Creating Mobility Hubs" was mandated by the SBB Management Board in 2019.Conference Poster -
Swiss mobility panel
(2023)Mobility in Switzerland (km/day) has been increasing steadily across recent decades. While generally seen as beneficial to society at large, increased mobility comes with various negative effects. Notably, emissions from the transport sector remained constant, impeding efforts in Switzerland to meet climate protection targets. Given these diverse demands, it is difficult to identify political majorities necessary to develop policy solutions. ...Conference Poster -
Using Machine Learning to Predict Earth Deformation from InSAR Time Series
(2023)Earth deformation poses an ever-present hazard to humans and their environment. Causes are numerous: tectonic movements, post-glacial rebound, or changes in the groundwater levels. Whilst some of them are results of natural processes, others are of anthropogenic nature. In areas such as risk management for already existing infrastructure, monitoring and predicting earth deformation is a crucial step towards building safer surroundings.Conference Poster -

Characterization of an unstable mountain slope using ambient seismic vibrations: case study Chilchenstock (GL)
(2018)A variety of geological and geotechnical techniques exist to characterize potential rockfall sites, such as fracture mapping or radar interferometry. However, these techniques are based on surface displacements and fail in case of slopes residing in an unstable equilibrium. Ambient seismic noise measurements can provide valuable information in such cases and is potentially able to sense the large-scale instability in depth. We demonstrate ...Conference Poster -
