Search for an exotic decay of the Higgs boson to a pair of light pseudoscalars in the final state with two muons and two b quarks in pp collisions at 13 TeV
(2019)Physics Letters, Section B: Nuclear, Elementary Particle and High-Energy PhysicsA search for exotic decays of the Higgs boson to a pair of light pseudoscalar particles a1 is performed under the hypothesis that one of the pseudoscalars decays to a pair of opposite sign muons and the other decays to bb. Such signatures are predicted in a number of extensions of the standard model (SM), including next-to-minimal supersymmetry and two-Higgs-doublet models with an additional scalar singlet. The results are based on a data ...Journal Article -
Measurement of associated production of a W boson and a charm quark in proton–proton collisions at √s=13Te
(2019)The European Physical Journal CMeasurements are presented of associated production of a W boson and a charm quark (W+c) in proton–proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13TeV. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 35.7fb−1 collected by the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC. The W bosons are identified by their decay into a muon and a neutrino. The charm quarks are tagged via the full reconstruction of D∗(2010)± mesons that decay via D∗(2010)±→D0+π±→K∓+π±+π±. ...Journal Article -
Search for contact interactions and large extra dimensions in the dilepton mass spectra from proton-proton collisions at √s=13 TeV
(2019)Journal of High Energy PhysicsA search for nonresonant excesses in the invariant mass spectra of electron and muon pairs is presented. The analysis is based on data from proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV recorded by the CMS experiment in 2016, corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 36 fb−1. No significant deviation from the standard model is observed. Limits are set at 95% confidence level on energy scales for two general classes ...Journal Article -
Search for a low-mass τ−τ+ resonance in association with a bottom quark in proton-proton collisions at s√ = 13 TeV
(2019)Journal of High Energy PhysicsA general search is presented for a low-mass τ−τ+ resonance produced in association with a bottom quark. The search is based on proton-proton collision data at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb−1. The data are consistent with the standard model expectation. Upper limits at 95% confidence level on the cross section times branching fraction are ...Journal Article -
Search for the associated production of the Higgs boson and a vector boson in proton-proton collisions at √s = 13 TeV via Higgs boson decays to τ leptons
(2019)Journal of High Energy PhysicsA search for the standard model Higgs boson produced in association with a W or a Z boson and decaying to a pair of τ leptons is performed. A data sample of proton-proton collisions collected at s√ = 13 TeV by the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC is used, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb−1. The signal strength is measured relative to the expectation for the standard model Higgs boson, yielding μ = 2.5 − 1.3 + 1.4 . These ...Journal Article -
Search for charged Higgs bosons in the H± → τ±ντ decay channel in proton-proton collisions at √s=13 TeV
(2019)Journal of High Energy PhysicsA search is presented for charged Higgs bosons in the H± → τ±ντ decay mode in the hadronic final state and in final states with an electron or a muon. The search is based on proton-proton collision data recorded by the CMS experiment in 2016 at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb−1. The results agree with the background expectation from the standard model. Upper limits at 95% confidence ...Journal Article -

Performance of missing transverse momentum reconstruction in proton-proton collisions at root s=13 TeV using the CMS detector
(2019)Journal of InstrumentationThe performance of missing transverse momentum (vec pTmiss) reconstruction algorithms for the CMS experiment is presented, using proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, collected at the CERN LHC in 2016. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb-1. The results include measurements of the scale and resolution of vec pTmiss, and detailed studies of events identified with anomalous vec pTmiss. ...Journal Article -
Search for supersymmetry with a compressed mass spectrum in the vector boson fusion topology with 1-lepton and 0-lepton final states in proton-proton collisions at √s = 13 TeV
(2019)Journal of High Energy PhysicsA search for supersymmetric particles produced in the vector boson fusion topology in proton-proton collisions is presented. The search targets final states with one or zero leptons, large missing transverse momentum, and two jets with a large separation in rapidity. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb−1 of proton-proton collisions at s√ = 13 TeV collected in 2016 with the CMS detector at the LHC. The observed ...Journal Article
