Pseudorapidity distributions of charged hadrons in xenon-xenon collisions at sNN=5.44 TeV
(2019)Physics Letters, Section B: Nuclear, Elementary Particle and High-Energy PhysicsMeasurements of the pseudorapidity distributions of charged hadrons produced in xenon-xenon collisions at a nucleon-nucleon centre-of-mass energy of sNN=5.44 TeV are presented. The measurements are based on data collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC. The yield of primary charged hadrons produced in xenon-xenon collisions in the pseudorapidity range |η|<3.2 is determined using the silicon pixel detector in the CMS tracking system. For ...Journal Article -
Probing the chiral magnetic wave in pPb and PbPb collisions at sNN =5.02 TeV using charge-dependent azimuthal anisotropies
(2019)Physical Review CCharge-dependent anisotropy Fourier coefficients (vn) of particle azimuthal distributions are measured in pPb and PbPb collisions at √sNN=5.02TeV with the CMS detector at the LHC. The normalized difference in the second-order anisotropy coefficients (v2) between positively and negatively charged particles is found to depend linearly on the observed event charge asymmetry with comparable slopes for both pPb and PbPb collisions over a wide ...Journal Article -
Evidence for light-by-light scattering and searches for axion-like particles in ultraperipheral PbPb collisions at √sNN=5.02TeV
(2019)Physics Letters, Section B: Nuclear, Elementary Particle and High-Energy PhysicsEvidence for the light-by-light scattering process, γγ→γγ , in ultraperipheral PbPb collisions at a centre-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of is reported. The analysis is conducted using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 390 μb−1 recorded by the CMS experiment at the LHC. Light-by-light scattering processes are selected in events with two photons exclusively produced, each with transverse energy EγT>2GeV, ...Journal Article -
Charged-particle angular correlations in XeXe collisions at √sNN=5.44 TeV
(2019)Physical Review CAzimuthal correlations of charged particles in xenon-xenon collisions at a center-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of √sNN=5.44 TeV are studied. The data were collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC with a total integrated luminosity of 3.42μb−1. The collective motion of the system formed in the collision is parametrized by a Fourier expansion of the azimuthal particle density distribution. The azimuthal anisotropy coefficients v2, v3, ...Journal Article -
Measurement of B0s meson production in pp and PbPb collisionsat √sNN=5.02 TeV
(2019)Physics Letters BThe production cross sections of Bs 0 mesons and charge conjugates are measured in proton-proton (pp) and PbPb collisions via the exclusive decay channel Bs 0→J/ψϕ→μ+μ−K+K− at a center-of-mass energy of 5.02 TeV per nucleon pair and within the rapidity range |y|<2.4 using the CMS detector at the LHC. The pp measurement is performed as a function of transverse momentum (pT) of the Bs 0 mesons in the range of 7 to 50 GeV/c and is compared ...Journal Article -
A search for pair production of new light bosons decaying into muons in proton-proton collisions at 13 TeV
(2019)Physics Letters BA search for new light bosons decaying into muon pairs is presented using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9fb−1 of proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy s=13TeV, collected with the CMS detector at the CERN LHC. The search is model independent, only requiring the pair production of a new light boson and its subsequent decay to a pair of muons. No significant deviation from the predicted background ...Journal Article -
Azimuthal separation in nearly back-to-back jet topologies in inclusive 2- and 3-jet events in pp collisions at √s=13Te
(2019)The European Physical Journal CA measurement for inclusive 2- and 3-jet events of the azimuthal correlation between the two jets with the largest transverse momenta, Δϕ12, is presented. The measurement considers events where the two leading jets are nearly collinear (“back-to-back”) in the transverse plane and is performed for several ranges of the leading jet transverse momentum. Proton-proton collision data collected with the CMS experiment at a center-of-mass energy ...Journal Article -
Measurement of electroweak WZ boson production and search for new physics in WZ + two jets events in pp collisions at s=13TeV
(2019)Physics Letters, Section B: Nuclear, Elementary Particle and High-Energy PhysicsA measurement of WZ electroweak (EW) vector boson scattering is presented. The measurement is performed in the leptonic decay modes WZ→lνl′l′, where l,l′=e,μ. The analysis is based on a data sample of proton-proton collisions at s=13TeV at the LHC collected with the CMS detector and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb−1. The WZ plus two jet production cross section is measured in fiducial regions with enhanced contributions ...Journal Article -
Search for dark matter in events with a leptoquark and missing transverse momentum in proton-proton collisions at 13 TeV
(2019)Physics Letters BA search is presented for dark matter in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of s=13 TeV using events with at least one high transverse momentum (pT) muon, at least one high-pT jet, and large missing transverse momentum. The data were collected with the CMS detector at the CERN LHC in 2016 and 2017, and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 77.4 fb−1. In the examined scenario, a pair of scalar leptoquarks is assumed ...Journal Article -

(2019)The European Physical Journal CExclusive ρ(770)0 photoproduction is measured for the first time in ultraperipheral pPb collisions at sNN−−−√=5.02TeV with the CMS detector. The cross section σ(γp→ρ(770)0p) is 11.0±1.4(stat)±1.0(syst) μb at ⟨Wγp⟩=92.6GeV for photon–proton centre-of-mass energies Wγp between 29 and 213GeV. The differential cross section dσ/d|t| is measured in the interval 0.025<|t|<1GeV2 as a function of Wγp, where t is the squared four-momentum transfer ...Journal Article
