Search for a light charged Higgs boson in the H±→cs channel in proton-proton collisions at √s=13 TeV
(2020)Physical Review DA search is conducted for a low-mass charged Higgs boson produced in a top quark decay and subsequently decaying into a charm and a strange quark. The data sample was recorded in proton-proton collisions at root s = 13 TeV by the CMS experiment at the LHC and corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb(-1). The search is performed in the process of top quark pair production, where one top quark decays to a bottom quark and a charged ...Journal Article -
Strange hadron production in pp and pPb collisions at sNN =5.02 TeV
(2020)Physical Review CThe transverse momentum (pT) distributions of Λ, Ξ-, and ω- baryons, their antiparticles, and KS0 mesons are measured in proton-proton (pp) and proton-lead (pPb) collisions at a nucleon-nucleon center-of-mass energy of 5.02 TeV over a broad rapidity range. The data, corresponding to integrated luminosities of 40.2 nb-1 and 15.6 μb-1 for pp and pPb collisions, respectively, were collected by the CMS experiment. The nuclear modification ...Journal Article -
Probing the chiral magnetic wave in pPb and PbPb collisions at sNN =5.02 TeV using charge-dependent azimuthal anisotropies
(2019)Physical Review CCharge-dependent anisotropy Fourier coefficients (vn) of particle azimuthal distributions are measured in pPb and PbPb collisions at √sNN=5.02TeV with the CMS detector at the LHC. The normalized difference in the second-order anisotropy coefficients (v2) between positively and negatively charged particles is found to depend linearly on the observed event charge asymmetry with comparable slopes for both pPb and PbPb collisions over a wide ...Journal Article -
Azimuthal separation in nearly back-to-back jet topologies in inclusive 2- and 3-jet events in pp collisions at √s=13Te
(2019)The European Physical Journal CA measurement for inclusive 2- and 3-jet events of the azimuthal correlation between the two jets with the largest transverse momenta, Δϕ12, is presented. The measurement considers events where the two leading jets are nearly collinear (“back-to-back”) in the transverse plane and is performed for several ranges of the leading jet transverse momentum. Proton-proton collision data collected with the CMS experiment at a center-of-mass energy ...Journal Article -
Measurement of exclusive ρ(770)0 photoproduction in ultraperipheral pPb collisions at √sNN=5.02Te
(2019)The European Physical Journal CExclusive ρ(770)0 photoproduction is measured for the first time in ultraperipheral pPb collisions at sNN−−−√=5.02TeV with the CMS detector. The cross section σ(γp→ρ(770)0p) is 11.0±1.4(stat)±1.0(syst) μb at ⟨Wγp⟩=92.6GeV for photon–proton centre-of-mass energies Wγp between 29 and 213GeV. The differential cross section dσ/d|t| is measured in the interval 0.025<|t|<1GeV2 as a function of Wγp, where t is the squared four-momentum transfer ...Journal Article -
Centrality and pseudorapidity dependence of the transverse energy density in pPb collisions ats root s(NN)=5.02 TeV
(2019)Physical Review CThe almost hermetic coverage of the CMS detector is used to measure the distribution of transverse energy, ET, over 13.2 units of pseudorapidity, η, for pPb collisions at a center-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of √sNN=5.02TeV. The huge angular acceptance exploits the fact that the CASTOR calorimeter at −6.6<η<−5.2 is effectively present on both sides of the colliding system because of a switch in the proton-going and lead-going beam ...Journal Article -
Search for a standard model-like Higgs boson in the mass range between 70 and 110 GeV in the diphoton final state in proton-proton collisions at s=8 and 13 TeV
(2019)Physics Letters BThe results of a search for a standard model-like Higgs boson in the mass range between 70 and 110 GeV decaying into two photons are presented. The analysis uses the data set collected with the CMS experiment in proton-proton collisions during the 2012 and 2016 LHC running periods. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 at (13) TeV. The expected and observed 95% confidence level upper limits on the product of the ...Journal Article -
Search for invisible decays of a Higgs boson produced through vector boson fusion in proton-proton collisions at s=13TeV
(2019)Physics Letters, Section B: Nuclear, Elementary Particle and High-Energy PhysicsA search for invisible decays of a Higgs boson is performed using proton-proton collision data collected with the CMS detector at the LHC in 2016 at a center-of-mass energy s=13TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb-1. The search targets the production of a Higgs boson via vector boson fusion. The data are found to be in agreement with the background contributions from standard model processes. An observed (expected) ...Journal Article -
Measurement of inclusive very forward jet cross sections in proton-lead collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV
(2019)Journal of High Energy PhysicsMeasurements of differential cross sections for inclusive very forward jet production in proton-lead collisions as a function of jet energy are presented. The data were collected with the CMS experiment at the LHC in the laboratory pseudorapidity range −6.6 < η < −5.2. Asymmetric beam energies of 4 TeV for protons and 1.58 TeV per nucleon for Pb nuclei were used, corresponding to a center-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of √sNN = 5.02 ...Journal Article
