Search for heavy neutrinos and W bosons with right-handed couplings in proton-proton collisions at √s=8TeV
(2014)The European Physical Journal CA search for heavy, right-handed neutrinos, Nℓ (ℓ=e,μ), and right-handed WR bosons, which arise in the left-right symmetric extensions of the standard model, has been performed by the CMS experiment. The search was based on a sample of two lepton plus two jet events collected in proton–proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 8TeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb−1. For models with strict left-right symmetry, ...Journal Article -
Observation of the diphoton decay of the Higgs boson and measurement of its properties
(2014)The European Physical Journal CObservation of the diphoton decay mode of the recently discovered Higgs boson and measurement of some of its properties are reported. The analysis uses the entire dataset collected by the CMS experiment in proton-proton collisions during the 2011 and 2012 LHC running periods. The data samples correspond to integrated luminosities of 5.1fb-1at s√=7TeV and 19.7fb-1at 8TeV . A clear signal is observed in the diphoton channel at a mass close ...Journal Article -
Measurement of top quark-antiquark pair production in association with a W or Z boson in pp collisions at √s=8 TeV
(2014)The European Physical Journal CA measurement of the cross section for the production of top quark–antiquark pairs (tt¯) in association with a vector boson V (W or Z) in proton-proton collisions at s√=8 TeV is presented. The results are based on a dataset corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.5 fb−1 recorded with the CMS detector at the LHC. The measurement is performed in three leptonic (e and μ) channels: a same-sign dilepton analysis targeting tt¯W events, ...Journal Article -
Search for Top-Quark Partners with Charge 5/3 in the Same-Sign Dilepton Final State
(2014)Physical Review LettersA search for the production of heavy partners of the top quark with charge 5/3 is performed in events with a pair of same-sign leptons. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 19.5fb−1 and was collected at √s = 8 TeV by the CMS experiment. No significant excess is observed in the data above the expected background, and the existence of top-quark partners with masses below 800 GeV is excluded at a 95% confidence level, ...Journal Article
