Search for colour reconnection effects in e+e- -> W+W- -> hadrons through particle-flow studies at LEP
(2003)Physics Letters BA search for colour reconnection effects in hadronic decays of W pairs is performed with the L3 detector at centre-of-mass energies between 189 and 209 GeV. The analysis is based on the study of the particle flow between jets associated to the sameW boson and between two different W bosons in qqqq events. The ratio of particle yields in the different interjet regions is found to be sensitive to colour reconnection effects implemented in ...Journal Article -

Measurement of exclusive ρ0ρ0 production in two-photon collisions at high Q2 at LEP
(2003)Physics Letters BExclusive ρ0ρ0 production in two-photon collisions involving a single highly virtual photon is studied with data collected at LEP at centre-of-mass energies 89 GeV < √s < 209 GeV with a total integrated luminosity of 854.7 pb-1. The cross section of the process γγ* → ρ0ρ0 is determined as a function of the photon virtuality, Q2, and the two-photon centre-of-mass energy, Wγγ, in the kinematic region: 1.2 GeV2 < Q2 < 30 GeV2 and 1.1 GeV < ...Journal Article -
Neutral-current four-fermion production in e+e- interactions at LEP
(2005)Physics Letters BNeutral-current four-fermion production, e+e -→ff̄f′f̄′, is studied in 0.7 fb -1 of data collected with the L3 detector at LEP at centre-of-mass energies s=183-209 GeV. Four final states are considered: qq̄νν̄ , qq̄ℓ+ℓ-, ℓ+ℓ-ℓ′+ℓ′- and ℓ+ℓ-νν̄, where ℓ denotes either an electron or a muon. Their cross sections are measured and found to agree with the Standard Model predictions. In addition, the e+e-→Zγ *→ff̄f′f̄′ process is studied and ...Journal Article -
Measurement of W polarisation at LEP
(2003)Physics Letters BThe three different helicity states of W bosons produced in the reaction e+e- →W+W-→lνqq-' at LEP are studied using leptonic and hadronic W decays. Data at centre-of-mass energies √s = 183-209 GeV are used to measure the polarisation of Wbosons, and its dependence on theWboson production angle. The fraction of longitudinally polarisedWbosons is measured to be 0.218 ± 0.027 ± 0.016 where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second ...Journal Article
