Observation of top quark pairs produced in association with a vector boson in pp collisions at √s=8 TeV
(2016)Journal of High Energy PhysicsMeasurements of the cross sections for top quark pairs produced in association with a W or Z boson are presented, using 8 TeV pp collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.5 fb−1, collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC. Final states are selected in which the associated W boson decays to a charged lepton and a neutrino or the Z boson decays to two charged leptons. Signal events are identified by matching reconstructed ...Journal Article -
Measurement of transverse momentum relative to dijet systems in PbPb and pp collisions at √sNN=2.76 TeV
(2016)Journal of High Energy PhysicsAn analysis of dijet events in PbPb and pp collisions is performed to explore the properties of energy loss by partons traveling in a quark-gluon plasma. Data are collected at a nucleon-nucleon center-of-mass energy of 2.76 TeV at the LHC. The distribution of transverse momentum (p T) surrounding dijet systems is measured by selecting charged particles in different ranges of p T and at different angular cones of pseudorapidity and azimuth. ...Journal Article -
Search for vector-like charge 2/3T quarks in proton-proton collisions at √s = 8 TeV
(2016)Physical Review DA search for fermionic top quark partners T of charge 2/3 is presented. The search is carried out in proton-proton collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb−1 collected at a center-of-mass energy of √s=8 TeV with the CMS detector at the LHC. The T quarks are assumed to be produced strongly in pairs and can decay into tH, tZ, and bW. The search is performed in five exclusive channels: a single-lepton channel, a ...Journal Article -
Search for resonant tt¯ production in proton-proton collisions at √s=8 TeV
(2016)Physical Review DA search is performed for the production of heavy resonances decaying into top-antitop quark pairs in proton-proton collisions at √s=8 TeV. Data used for the analyses were collected with the CMS detector and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb−1. The search is performed using events with three different final states, defined by the number of leptons (electrons and muons) from the t¯t→WbWb decay. The analyses are optimized ...Journal Article -
Measurement of Long-Range Near-Side Two-Particle Angular Correlations in pp Collisions at √s = 13 TeV
(2016)Physical Review LettersResults on two-particle angular correlations for charged particles produced in pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV are presented. The data were taken with the CMS detector at the LHC and correspond to an integrated luminosity of about 270 nb−1. The correlations are studied over a broad range of pseudorapidity (|η|<2.4) and over the full azimuth (ϕ) as a function of charged particle multiplicity and transverse momentum (pT). ...Journal Article
