Linking DNA damage profiles to mutational signatures
(2022)Human cancers arise from mutagenic processes that continuously threaten DNA integrity. Mutations can arise from exposure to endogenous or exogenous genotoxin but also from DNA replication mistakes or DNA bases editing. Those mutagenic processes can be amplified by DNA repair pathways deficiencies. Genotoxins can damage DNA leading to DNA adducts which have cellular adverse effects such as introducing mutations or causing cell death. ...Doctoral Thesis -

Reconstructing the Evolution and Dynamics of Central Alpine Glaciers During the Last Glacial Maximum on the Basis of Their Geomorphological Footprints and Cosmogenic Nuclide Surface Exposure Dating
(2022)During the climax of the last glaciation, the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM; ~26.5-19 ka ago), large parts of the European Alps were covered by ice. Only the highest peaks protruded from the ice as nunataks. Interconnected transectional valley glaciers emerged and advanced far onto the northern, southern, and western Alpine forelands where they terminated as extensive piedmont glacier lobes. On the basis of preserved glacial and subglacial ...Doctoral Thesis -

Christian Democrats, Architecture and Capitalist Development in Post-War Italy: Società Generale Immobiliare (SGI), 1945–75
(2021)Architectural histories of post-war Italy tend to focus on the work of progressive agencies, magazines and architects, while they rarely look into the activity of conservative outfits and individuals. Also, as a rule, these histories rely on two sources: the visual records of buildings and the mediatised discourse by their designers and critics. This PhD project differs in topic and method: by studying the unpublished papers of an Italian ...Doctoral Thesis
