Network Neutrality, Access to Content and Online Advertising
(2013)KOF Working PapersWe investigate the implications of Network Neutrality regulation for Internet fragmentation. We model a two-sided market, where Content Providers (CPs) and consumers interact through Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and CPs sell consumers’ attention to advertisers. Under Network Neutrality, CPs can have their traffic delivered to consumers by ISPs for free, while in the Unregulated Regime they have to pay a (non-discriminatory) termination ...Working Paper -

Combining Energy Networks
(2013)Discussion papersThe interdependence of electricity and natural gas is becoming a major energy policy and regulatory issue in all jurisdictions around the world. The increased role of gas fired plants in renewable-based electricity markets and the dependence on gas imports make this issue particular striking for the European energy market. In this paper we provide a comprehensive combined analysis of electricity and natural gas infrastructure with an ...Working Paper -
Optimization Based Autonomous Racing of 1:43 Scale RC Cars
(2013)Report Institute of Automatic Control, ETH ZürichThis paper describes autonomous racing of RC race cars based on mathematical optimization. Using a dynamical model of the vehicle, control inputs are computed by receding horizon based controllers, where the objective is to maximize progress on the track subject to the requirement of staying on the track and avoiding opponents. Two different control formulations are presented. The first controller employs a two- level structure, consisting ...Report -

Stability results for perturbations of Lévy term structure models
(2013)In this note, we study term structure models driven by Lévy processes and provide stability results for them. In reality, we can never be sure of the accuracy of a proposed model. With this motivation, we present sufficient conditions which ensure that the model has the tendency to recover from perturbations. Our results include stability conditions for the forward rates, yield curves and option prices.`Working Paper
