Study of hadronic event-shape variables in multijet final states in pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV
(2014)Journal of High Energy PhysicsEvent-shape variables, which are sensitive to perturbative and nonperturbative aspects of quantum chromodynamic (QCD) interactions, are studied in multijet events recorded in proton-proton collisions at s√=7 TeV. Events are selected with at least one jet with transverse momentum p T > 110 GeV and pseudorapidity |η| < 2.4, in a data sample corresponding to integrated luminosities of up to 5 fb−1. The distributions of five event-shape ...Journal Article -

Search for neutral MSSM Higgs bosons decaying to a pair of tau leptons in pp collisions
(2014)Journal of High Energy PhysicsA search for neutral Higgs bosons in the minimal supersymmetric extension of the standard model (MSSM) decaying to tau-lepton pairs in pp collisions is performed, using events recorded by the CMS experiment at the LHC. The dataset corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 24.6 fb−1, with 4.9 fb−1 at 7 TeV and 19.7 fb−1 at 8 TeV. To enhance the sensitivity to neutral MSSM Higgs bosons, the search includes the case where the Higgs boson ...Journal Article -
Measurement of the ratio B(t→Wb)/B(t→Wq) in pp collisions at √s = 8 TeV
(2014)Physics Letters BThe ratio of the top-quark branching fractions R = B(t --> Wb)/B(t --> Wq), where the denominator includes the sum over all down-type quarks (q = b, s, d), is measured in the t (t) over bar dilepton final state with proton-proton collision data at root s = 8 TeV from an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb(-1), collected with the CMS detector. In order to quantify the purity of the signal sample, the cross section is measured by fitting the ...Journal Article -
Constraints on the Higgs boson width from off-shell production and decay to Z-boson pairs
(2014)Physics Letters BConstraints are presented on the total width of the recently discovered Higgs boson, ΓH, using its relative on-shell and off-shell production and decay rates to a pair of Z bosons, where one Z boson decays to an electron or muon pair, and the other to an electron, muon, or neutrino pair. The analysis is based on the data collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC in 2011 and 2012, corresponding to integrated luminosities of 5.1fb -1 at a ...Journal Article -
Search for top-squark pairs decaying into Higgs or Z bosons in pp collisions at √s=8 TeV
(2014)Physics Letters BA search for supersymmetry through the direct pair production of top squarks, with Higgs (H) or Z bosons in the decay chain, is performed using a data sample of proton–proton collisions at √s = 8TeV collected in 2012 with the CMS detector at the LHC. The sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 19.5 fb−1. The search is performed using a selection of events containing leptons and bottom-quark jets. No evidence for a significant ...Journal Article -
Searches for electroweak production of charginos, neutralinos, and sleptons decaying to leptons and W, Z, and Higgs bosons in pp collisions at 8 TeV
(2014)The European Physical Journal CSearches for the direct electroweak production of supersymmetric charginos, neutralinos, and sleptons in a variety of signatures with leptons and W, Z, and Higgs bosons are presented. Results are based on a sample of proton-proton collision data collected at center-of-mass energy s√=8TeV with the CMS detector in 2012, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.5 fb-1. The observed event rates are in agreement with expectations from ...Journal Article -
Measurement of top quark-antiquark pair production in association with a W or Z boson in pp collisions at √s=8 TeV
(2014)The European Physical Journal CA measurement of the cross section for the production of top quark–antiquark pairs (tt¯) in association with a vector boson V (W or Z) in proton-proton collisions at s√=8 TeV is presented. The results are based on a dataset corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.5 fb−1 recorded with the CMS detector at the LHC. The measurement is performed in three leptonic (e and μ) channels: a same-sign dilepton analysis targeting tt¯W events, ...Journal Article -
Search for the associated production of the Higgs boson with a top-quark pair
(2014)Journal of High Energy PhysicsA search for the standard model Higgs boson produced in association with a top-quark pair (tt¯H) is presented, using data samples corresponding to integrated luminosities of up to 5.1 fb−1 and 19.7 fb−1 collected in pp collisions at center-of-mass energies of 7 TeV and 8 TeV respectively. The search is based on the following signatures of the Higgs boson decay: H → hadrons, H → photons, and H → leptons. The results are characterized by ...Journal Article -
Measurement of prompt J/ψ pair production in pp collisions at √s = 7 Tev
(2014)Journal of High Energy PhysicsProduction of prompt J/ψ meson pairs in proton-proton collisions at s√ = 7 TeV is measured with the CMS experiment at the LHC in a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of about 4.7 fb−1. The two J/ψ mesons are fully reconstructed via their decays into μ + μ − pairs. This observation provides for the first time access to the high-transverse-momentum region of J/ψ pair production where model predictions are not yet established. ...Journal Article
