Comparison of 100-kHz Near-IR and Mid-IR Driven High-Harmonic Generation in the Water Window
(2021)OSA Technical Digest ~ Conference on Lasers and Electro-OpticsWe report the generation of water window harmonics (283-543 eV) with a 0.8-µm driver at 100 kHz repetition rate, and compare the results with high-harmonic generation at 2.2 µm.Other Conference Item -
Silicate Bonding of Sapphire to SESAMs: SESAMs with Tunable Thermal Lensing for High-Power Lasers
(2021)OSA Technical Digest ~ Conference on Lasers and Electro-OpticsWe demonstrate for the first time silicate bonding of a SESAM to a sapphire superstrate to control the sign and magnitude of the SESAMs thermal lensing. We demonstrate modelocking in a 233-W average-power thin-disk laser.Other Conference Item -
Tracking chemical reaction using soft-X-Ray absorption spectroscopy with a table-top water-window X-ray source
(2021)OSA Technical Digest ~ Conference on Lasers and Electro-OpticsWe demonstrate femtosecond time-resolved soft-X-ray absorption spectroscopy of liquid samples by combining a sub-micrometer-thin flat liquid jet with a high-harmonic table-top source covering the entire water-window range (284-538 eV). Our measurements temporally resolve the gradual appearance of absorption features below the carbon K-edge of ethanol and methanol during strong-field ionization, which trace the valence-shell ionization ...Other Conference Item -
All-Mid-Infrared Stabilized Quantum Cascade Laser Frequency Comb with 30-kHz Frequency Stability at 7.7 µm
(2021)OSA Technical Digest ~ Conference on Lasers and Electro-OpticsHigh-resolution spectroscopy in the mid-infrared requires stable frequency references. A frequency comb emitted by a quantum cascade laser is locked to a molecular transition, demonstrating 30-kHz frequency stability up to 5000-s integration time.Other Conference Item -
Monolithically integrated laser platform for the mid-infrared
(2021)OSA Technical Digest ~ Conference on Lasers and Electro-OpticsWe present an active-passive monolithic integration platform developed for the mid-infrared spectral range. The monolithically integrated quantum cascade lasers output optical power up to 550 mW in pulsed operation and 100 mW in continuous wave operation.Other Conference Item -
Electrically injection-locked quantum dash frequency-modulated comb
(2021)OSA Technical Digest ~ Conference on Lasers and Electro-OpticsInter-mode beat frequency tuning of a quantum dash comb laser by electrical injection locking is presented. Frequency-modulated comb generation at 6350 cm-1 (1575 nm, telecom L-band) is confirmed by beat note spectroscopy. A 1.8 MHz wide beat frequency tuning range, injection power and injection frequency dependent beat frequency locking are supported by a coupled oscillator model extended with a noise term.Other Conference Item -
Comb injection into a single-mode laser
(2021)OSA Technical Digest ~ Conference on Lasers and Electro-OpticsTemporally-and spectrally-resolved phase and intensity emission characterization of amplitude-modulated optical frequency comb generation and phase noise transfer of an initially single mode laser by optical comb injection locking is presented.Other Conference Item -
Non-linear Response of CdSe/CdS Quantum Dots Driven by Intense Terahertz Pulses
(2021)OSA Technical Digest ~ Conference on Lasers and Electro-OpticsWe report on the observation of quantum confined stark effect (QCSE) in CdSe/CdS core/shell quantum dots (QDs) directly driven by an intense THz field, generated in the organic crystal DAST, which is pumped with multi-millijoule mid-IR pulses.Other Conference Item -
95 MHz Bandwidth Electro-Optic Metasurfaces based on Barium Titanate Nanocrystals
(2021)OSA Technical Digest ~ Conference on Lasers and Electro-OpticsWe show that photonic metasurfaces based on barium titanate nanocrystals possess strong electro-optic response. Transmission at near infrared wavelength is controlled with low input RF signal < 3 Volts and extends close to 100 MHz.Other Conference Item -
Amplitude-and frequency-modulated comb laser with sub-kHz RF beat note line width
(2021)OSA Technical Digest ~ Conference on Lasers and Electro-OpticsThe generation of frequency-modulated and amplitude-modulated combs on demand by a multi-section quantum dot laser are presented. The combs are centered at 1265 nm (7900 cm-1). Temporally-and spectrally-resolved intensity and inter-modal phase as well as time and frequency domain analysis identify frequency-modulated and amplitude-modulated comb generation in dependence on the laser gain current and absorber reverse bias voltage. ...Other Conference Item
