Anmerkungen zur Schuldenbremse
(2003)KOF Working PapersVolk und Stände der Schweiz beschlossen 2001, den absoluten Schuldenstand des Staates im Konjunkturverlauf zu begrenzen. Adapting the CSE program at ETH Zurich to the Bologna process
(2003)SAM Research ReportIn 1997 a new interdisciplinary Diploma program in Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) was started at ETH Zurich. We report on the changes of the curriculum due to the Bologna Declaration of June 19, 1999 by the European Ministers of Education. The new Bachelor program in CSE at ETH Zurich started in October 2003 and the Master program in CSE will follow in October 2005. We will describe both programs in some detail as well as the ...Report -
Speaker normalization with respect to F0: A perceptual approach
(2003)TIK ReportA speaker normalization scheme that uses explicit knowledge of acoustic phonetics is presented. The scheme warps the frequency axis linearly in critical band rate with respect to the fundamental frequency F0. It thus allows an immediate adaption to a new speaker which is an advantage over commonly used schemes. Variants with different values of F0 and different parameters have been evaluated on several tasks of SpeechDat(II). The results ...Report -

Interpretation of Cointegration Coefficients: A Paradox, a Solution and Empirical Evidence
(2003)KOF Working PapersThe concept of cointegration (see e.g., Engle and Granger, 1987; Johansen, 1988) has extensively been used to model equilibrium relationships (see e.g., Johansen and Juselius, 1990; Ericsson, 1998). The links between economic and econometric concepts are now well understood and they have become part of the standard tools of empirical analysis. At the same time, however, the dynamics of the off-equilibrium situation have been met with ...Working Paper -
