Jet properties in PbPb and pp collisions at √sNN=5.02 TeV
(2018)Journal of High Energy PhysicsModifications of the properties of jets in PbPb collisions, relative to those in pp collisions, are studied at a nucleon-nucleon center-of-mass energy of sNN−−−−√=5.02 TeV via correlations of charged particles with the jet axis in relative pseudorapidity (Δη), relative azimuth (Δϕ), and relative angular distance from the jet axis Δr=(Δη)2+(Δϕ)2−−−−−−−−−−−−√. This analysis uses data collected with the CMS detector at the LHC, corresponding ...Journal Article -
Search for lepton-flavor violating decays of heavy resonances and quantum black holes to eμ final states in proton-proton collisions at √s=13 TeV
(2018)Journal of High Energy PhysicsA search is reported for heavy resonances decaying into eμ final states in proton-proton collisions recorded by the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC at s√=13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb−1. The search focuses on resonance masses above 200 GeV. With no evidence found for physics beyond the standard model in the eμ mass spectrum, upper limits are set at 95% confidence level on the product of the cross section and ...Journal Article -
Search for the X(5568) State Decaying into B0sπ± in Proton-Proton Collisions at √s=8 TeV
(2018)Physical Review LettersA search for resonancelike structures in the B0sπ± invariant mass spectrum is performed using proton-proton collision data collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC at √s=8 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb−1. The B0s mesons are reconstructed in the decay chain B0s→J/ψϕ, with J/ψ→μ+μ− and ϕ→K+K−. The B0sπ± invariant mass distribution shows no statistically significant peaks for different selection requirements ...Journal Article -
Observation of ttH Production
(2018)Physical Review LettersThe observation of Higgs boson production in association with a top quark-antiquark pair is reported, based on a combined analysis of proton-proton collision data at center-of-mass energies of √s=7, 8, and 13 TeV, corresponding to integrated luminosities of up to 5.1, 19.7, and 35.9 fb−1, respectively. The data were collected with the CMS detector at the CERN LHC. The results of statistically independent searches for Higgs bosons produced ...Journal Article -
Search for supersymmetry using razor variables in events with b-tagged jets in pp collisions at root s=8 TeV
(2015)Physical Review DAn inclusive search for supersymmetry in events with at least one b-tagged jet is performed using proton-proton collision data collected by the CMS experiment in 2012 at a center-of-mass energy of 8 TeV. The data set size corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 19.3 fb−1. The two-dimensional distribution of the razor variables R2 and MR is studied in events with and without leptons. The data are found to be consistent with the expected ...Journal Article -

Search for high-mass resonances in final states with a lepton and missing transverse momentum at √s=13 TeV
(2018)Journal of High Energy PhysicsA search for new high-mass resonances in proton-proton collisions having final states with an electron or muon and missing transverse momentum is presented. The analysis uses proton-proton collision data collected in 2016 with the CMS detector at the LHC at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb−1. The transverse mass distribution of the charged lepton-neutrino system is used as the ...Journal Article -
Search for disappearing tracks as a signature of new long-lived particles in proton-proton collisions at √s=13 TeV
(2018)Journal of High Energy PhysicsA search is presented for long-lived charged particles that decay within the CMS detector and produce the signature of a disappearing track. A disappearing track is an isolated track with missing hits in the outer layers of the silicon tracker, little or no energy in associated calorimeter deposits, and no associated hits in the muon detectors. This search uses data collected with the CMS detector in 2015 and 2016 from proton-proton ...Journal Article -
Search for massive resonances decaying into WW, WZ or ZZ bosons in proton-proton collisions at s√=13TeV
(2017)Journal of High Energy PhysicsA search is presented for new massive resonances decaying to WW, WZ or ZZ bosons in ℓνqq¯¯ and qq¯¯qq¯¯ final states. Results are based on data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.3-2.7 fb−1 recorded in proton-proton collisions at s√=13 TeV with the CMS detector at the LHC. Decays of spin-1 and spin-2 resonances into two vector bosons are sought in the mass range 0.6-4.0 TeV. No significant excess over the standard model ...Journal Article -
Search for resonant pair production of Higgs bosons decaying to bottom quark-antiquark pairs in proton-proton collisions at 13 TeV
(2018)Journal of High Energy PhysicsA search for a narrow-width resonance decaying into two Higgs bosons, each decaying into a bottom quark-antiquark pair, is presented. The search is performed using proton-proton collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb−1 at s√=13 TeV recorded by the CMS detector at the LHC. No evidence for such a signal is observed. Upper limits are set on the product of the production cross section for the resonance and the ...Journal Article
