Combined Measurement of the Higgs Boson Mass in pp Collisions at √s=7 and 8 TeV with the ATLAS and CMS Experiments
(2015)Physical Review LettersA measurement of the Higgs boson mass is presented based on the combined data samples of the ATLAS and CMS experiments at the CERN LHC in the H→γγ and H→ZZ→4ℓ decay channels. The results are obtained from a simultaneous fit to the reconstructed invariant mass peaks in the two channels and for the two experiments. The measured masses from the individual channels and the two experiments are found to be consistent among themselves. The ...Journal Article -

Search for supersymmetry using razor variables in events with b-tagged jets in pp collisions at root s=8 TeV
(2015)Physical Review DAn inclusive search for supersymmetry in events with at least one b-tagged jet is performed using proton-proton collision data collected by the CMS experiment in 2012 at a center-of-mass energy of 8 TeV. The data set size corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 19.3 fb−1. The two-dimensional distribution of the razor variables R2 and MR is studied in events with and without leptons. The data are found to be consistent with the expected ...Journal Article -
Measurement of the electron neutrino charged-current interaction rate on water with the T2K ND280 π0 detector
(2015)Physical Review DThis paper presents a measurement of the charged current interaction rate of the electron neutrino beam component of the beam above 1.5 GeV using the large fiducial mass of the T2K π0 detector. The predominant portion of the νe flux (∼85%) at these energies comes from kaon decays. The measured ratio of the observed beam interaction rate to the predicted rate in the detector with water targets filled is 0.89±0.08(stat)±0.11(sys), and with ...Journal Article -
Measurement of diffractive dissociation cross sections in pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV
(2015)Physical Review DMeasurements of diffractive dissociation cross sections in pp collisions at √s=7 TeV are presented in kinematic regions defined by the masses MX and MY of the two final-state hadronic systems separated by the largest rapidity gap in the event. Differential cross sections are measured as a function of ξX=M2X/s in the region −5.5<log10ξX<−2.5, for log10MY<0.5, dominated by single dissociation (SD), and 0.5<log10MY<1.1, dominated by double ...Journal Article -
Search for supersymmetry with photons in pp collisions at √s = 8 TeV
(2015)Physical Review DTwo searches for physics beyond the standard model in events containing photons are presented. The data sample used corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb−1 of proton-proton collisions at √s=8 TeV, collected with the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC. The analyses pursue different inclusive search strategies. One analysis requires at least one photon, at least two jets, and a large amount of transverse momentum imbalance, while ...Journal Article -
First measurement of the forward-backward asymmetry in bottom-quark pair production at high mass
(2015)Physical Review DWe measure the particle-level forward-backward production asymmetry in b¯b pairs with masses (mb¯b) larger than 150 GeV/c2, using events with hadronic jets and employing jet charge to distinguish b from ¯b. The measurement uses 9.5 fb−1 of p¯p collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV recorded by the CDF II detector. The asymmetry as a function of mb¯b is consistent with zero, as well as with the predictions of the standard ...Journal Article -
Summary of the second workshop on liquid argon time projection chamber research and development in the United States
(2015)Journal of InstrumentationThe second workshop to discuss the development of liquid argon time projection chambers (LArTPCs) in the United States was held at Fermilab on July 8-9, 2014. The workshop was organized under the auspices of the Coordinating Panel for Advanced Detectors, a body that was initiated by the American Physical Society Division of Particles and Fields. All presentations at the workshop were made in six topical plenary sessions: i) Argon Purity ...Journal Article
