Assessing TanDEM-X-Derived Digital Elevation Models for Monitoring Rapid Permafrost Thaw: A Case Study in the Mackenzie River Delta
(2023)Permafrost is a common characteristic of Arctic landscapes, where it refers to ground that remains at or below 0 °C for a duration of at least two consecutive years. Permafrost underlies approximately 15 % of the landmass in the Northern Hemisphere and is becoming more susceptible to rapid thawing as the climate continues to warm (Obu et al. 2019). When ice-rich permafrost thaws it can alter the surface characteristics of a landscape which ...Conference Poster -

Evaluating the Robustness of Deep Learning Models for Mobility Prediction Through Causal Interventions
(2023)Changes in the characteristics of mobility data can significantly influence the predictive performance of deep learning models. However, there is still a lack of understanding of the degree of their impacts and the robustness of deep learning models against the variability of these characteristics. This hinders the development of benchmark datasets for evaluating different mobility prediction models. In this study, we use a causal ...Conference Poster -
Vehicle-To-Grid for Car Sharing
(2023)Car-sharing services can effectively reduce the number of privately owned cars and thereby CO2 emissions. Furthermore, their batteries may be relevant to providing ancillary services with so-called “vehicle-to-grid” (V2G) technology, i.e., charging and discharging the vehicle dependent on power demand. In this project, we aim to quantify the potential gains of V2G for car sharing owners and grid operators in future scenarios for 2030.Conference Poster
