Search for the standard model Higgs boson produced in association with a W or a Z boson and decaying to bottom quarks
(2014)Physical Review DA search for the standard model Higgs boson (H) decaying to b¯b when produced in association with a weak vector boson (V) is reported for the following channels: W(μν)H, W(eν)H, W(τν)H, Z(μμ)H, Z(ee)H, and Z(νν)H. The search is performed in data samples corresponding to integrated luminosities of up to 5.1 inverse femtobarns at √s=7 TeV and up to 18.9 fb−1 at √s=8 TeV, recorded by the CMS experiment at the LHC. An excess of events is ...Journal Article -
Determination of the top-quark pole mass and strong coupling constant from the tt¯ production cross section in pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV
(2014)Physics Letters BThe inclusive cross section for top-quark pair production measured by the CMS experiment in proton–proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV is compared to the QCD prediction at next-to-next-to-leading order with various parton distribution functions to determine the top-quark pole mass, mt pole, or the strong coupling constant, αS. With the parton distribution function set NNPDF2.3, a pole mass of 176.7−3.4 +3.8 GeV is obtained ...Journal Article -
Search for Top Squark and Higgsino Production Using Diphoton Higgs Boson Decays
(2014)Physical Review LettersResults are presented of a search for a “natural” supersymmetry scenario with gauge mediated symmetry breaking. It is assumed that only the supersymmetric partners of the top quark (the top squark) and the Higgs boson (Higgsino) are accessible. Events are examined in which there are two photons forming a Higgs boson candidate, and at least two b-quark jets. In 19.7 fb−1 of proton-proton collision data at s=8 TeV, recorded in the CMS ...Journal Article -
Measurement of the Wγ and Zγ inclusive cross sections in pp collisions at √s=7 TeV and limits on anomalous triple gauge boson couplings
(2014)Physical Review DMeasurements of Wγ and Zγ production in proton-proton collisions at √s=7 TeV are used to extract limits on anomalous triple gauge couplings. The results are based on data recorded by the CMS experiment at the LHC that correspond to an integrated luminosity of 5.0 fb−1. The cross sections are measured for photon transverse momenta pγT>15 GeV, and for separations between photons and final-state charged leptons in the pseudorapidity-azimuthal ...Journal Article
