Search for tt⎯⎯ resonances in highly boosted lepton+jets and fully hadronic final states in proton-proton collisions at s√=13 TeV
(2017)Journal of High Energy PhysicsA search for the production of heavy resonances decaying into top quark-antiquark pairs is presented. The analysis is performed in the lepton+jets and fully hadronic channels using data collected in proton-proton collisions at √s = 13 TeV using the CMS detector at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.6 fb−1. The selection is optimized for massive resonances, where the top quarks have large Lorentz boosts. No evidence ...Journal Article -
Search for a new scalar resonance decaying to a pair of Z bosons in proton-proton collisions at √s=13 TeV
(2018)Journal of High Energy PhysicsA search for a new scalar resonance decaying to a pair of Z bosons is performed in the mass range from 130 GeV to 3 TeV, and for various width scenarios. The analysis is based on proton-proton collisions recorded by the CMS experiment at the LHC in 2016, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb−1 at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. The Z boson pair decays are reconstructed using the 4ℓ, 2ℓ2q, and 2ℓ2ν final states, where ℓ ...Journal Article -
Search for a charged Higgs boson decaying to charm and bottom quarks in proton-proton collisions at √s=8 TeV
(2018)Journal of High Energy PhysicsA search for charged Higgs boson decaying to a charm and a bottom quark (H+→cb̄) is performed using 19.7 fb−1 of pp collision data at √s=8 TeV. The production mechanism investigated in this search is tt̄ pair production in which one top quark decays to a charged Higgs boson and a bottom quark and the other decays to a charged lepton, a neutrino, and a bottom quark. Charged Higgs boson decays to cb̄ are searched for, resulting in a final ...Journal Article -
Bose-Einstein correlations of charged hadrons in proton-proton collisions at √s = 13 TeV
(2020)Journal of High Energy PhysicsBose-Einstein correlations of charged hadrons are measured over a broad multiplicity range, from a few particles up to about 250 reconstructed charged hadrons in proton-proton collisions at 𝑠√ = 13 TeV. The results are based on data collected using the CMS detector at the LHC during runs with a special low-pileup configuration. Three analysis techniques with different degrees of dependence on simulations are used to remove the ...Journal Article -
Measurement of the top quark mass using proton-proton data at √s = 7 and 8 TeV
(2016)Physical Review DA new set of measurements of the top quark mass are presented, based on the proton-proton data recorded by the CMS experiment at the LHC at √s = 8 TeV corresponding to a luminosity of 19.7fb−1. The top quark mass is measured using the lepton + jets, all-jets and dilepton decay channels, giving values of 172.35 ± 0.16(stat) ± 0.48(syst) GeV, 172.32 ± 0.25(stat) ± 0.59(syst) GeV, and 172.82 ± 0.19(stat) ± 1.22(syst) GeV, respectively. When ...Journal Article -
Search for dark matter and unparticles produced in association with a Z boson in proton-proton collisions at √s = 8 TeV
(2016)Physical Review DA search for evidence of particle dark matter (DM) and unparticle production at the LHC has been performed using events containing two charged leptons, consistent with the decay of a Z boson, and large missing transverse momentum. This study is based on data collected with the CMS detector corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb−1 of pp collisions at the LHC at a center-of-mass energy of 8 TeV. No significant excess of events ...Journal Article -
Inclusive search for supersymmetry using razor variables in pp collisions at √s = 13 TeV
(2017)Physical Review DAn inclusive search for supersymmetry using razor variables is performed in events with four or more jets and no more than one lepton. The results are based on a sample of proton-proton collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.3 fb−1 collected with the CMS experiment at a center-of-mass energy of √s = 13 TeV. No significant excess over the background prediction is observed in data, and 95% confidence level exclusion limits ...Journal Article -
Measurement of the integrated and differential t¯t production cross sections for high-pT top quarks in pp collisions at √s=8 TeV
(2016)Physical Review DThe cross section for pair production of top quarks (t¯t) with high transverse momenta is measured in pp collisions, collected with the CMS detector at the LHC with √s=8 TeV in data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb−1. The measurement is performed using lepton+jets events, where one top quark decays semileptonically, while the second top quark decays to a hadronic final state. The hadronic decay is reconstructed as a ...Journal Article
